Morris Jumel Mansion, 65 Jumel Terrace (at 163rd st.)
Monica Bauchwitz (violin), Karl Kramer (horn), and Renana Gutman (piano). In 1865, in the Morris Jumel Mansion's second-floor bedroom, Eliza Jumel died. Meanwhile, on the European continent, Jean Sibelius, Carl Nielsen, Alexander Glazunov and Paul Dukas were born. Over the next 75 years, these four would push the boundaries of 19th-century Romanticism and help lay the sonic groundwork for 20th-century modernism. We will throw a birthday party, playing music from the catalogues of all four.
$25 per person, $20 for students/seniors
